Is the ‘List for Free’ promotion no obligation?
Yes. It runs until January 14, 2009, and if after that time you choose not to continue with advertising on this site you can delete any properties you’ve uploaded. But we are sure if you try us out you will discover an effective way to find a tenant or buyer for your property.
Does advertising on this site oblige me to enter a management arrangement?
No, posting your listing on our website does not mean you automatically allocate the management of your property to us, it is simply an advertising service we offer to landlords, tenants, vendors, buyers and real estate agencies.

Which business operates the Unitz website?
The owners of Unitz have been involved in real estate for over ten years. Their specialty in the past has been the management of rental properties. After experiencing the current websites available to owners and tenants for a number of years, they felt they could simplify the process, cut costs to both individual owners and businesses and maximize opportunity for exposure. Yes, even people who are not computer savvy can use this site. All steps are simple and straight forward. See our tips on photographs and listing below.
What sort of details can I include on this site?
We offer a fantastic opportunity to include a great deal of info about your property with maximum visual appeal. You can include photographs and property descriptions. Icons and/or boxes indicating exact property features (ie. gas or electric stove, indoor or outdoor pool, number of bedrooms, type of parking available, etc.)
 
Owners with self contained fully furnished properties can indicate a greater range of features (ie. bed size, TV, microwave, etc.). Best of all, potential tenants or buyers can email you directly so you have queries sent straight to your inbox. We invite you to browse through the listings already on this site and you will see just how much you can showcase about your property.
How does your site compare to others offering property advertising?
Uploading the information yourself means you have complete control over how your property is presented. You can also add or delete details on-the-spot (ie change rental rates according to the season or for last minute bookings if you have a vacancy, or to upload pictures of recent renovations) simply by logging in under your email address and password. There are no long and complicated procedures to follow to activate your listing. Once the free promotion period comes to an end our advertising rates will be very competitive.
How do I add a property listing to the website?
Start by clicking ‘List for Free’ at the top of the home page of the website and follow the directions. This process will take you step by step through a series of questions/ instructions. Click ‘Submit’ at the bottom of the page at every stage and you will be taken to the next area to be completed. If you want to edit any info or change any photos you’ve included either click on ‘Previous Page’ on the right hand side or go back into the ‘Manage Properties’ section and click on ‘Edit’ in the area you want to change.
 
We will activate your property within 24 hours if our conditions have been met.
What if I want to list a property and the suburb is not listed in the pull-down menu?
Just email us via the ‘Contact Us’ feature on the home page of the site. We will ensure the suburb is added. You can still list your property and it will appear on the Unitz site.
What is the limit of properties I can upload to this website?
There is no limit, however we only take genuine listings from the owner or agent who has the authority to rent or sell a property. Listings that are deliberately misleading will be removed from our site. Multiple insertions of the same property will be charged at the standard rates for each one. We also ask that if a feature of your property changes, you update your listing ASAP to avoid disappointing potential clients.
My property is not available until a later date. Can I advertise it now?
Yes, just indicate the date when the property is available in the property description. We recommend you do this in the first paragraph so that clients browsing through listings know at a glance when the property is available. You can change the availability date of your property whenever it is necessary.
What if I want to advertise this property but I don’t want to include the house or apartment number for security reasons?
This is a reasonable concern when a property is vacant or self contained and includes items of value, such as appliances. When you set up a property listing on our site, we ask you the property number so it’s easy for you to identify the property when you go back into the Unitz site to add or delete details. However, only the street name and not the number appears on the listing that is viewed by the public. We also recommend that you don’t include photos of the outside of the property, especially with the house or apartment number in view, if you have any concerns about the security of your property or the privacy of existing tenants while it is being advertised. You can advise your enquirers/tenants of the complete address of your property at the appropriate time.
How do I find out my password if I’ve forgotten it?
In the ‘Log In’ area, click on ‘Forgotten Password’. We will email it to you.
Can I delete a property listing from the website?
you cannot do it personally but we can do it for you. Just forward your property details to admin@unitz.com.au.
How do I disable a property listing from the website?
Log in with your email and password; then in the menu on the right hand side click on ‘disable Listing’. It will come up with a list of your properties you’ve uploaded, then click on ‘Disable’ next to the property you want to take off the Unitz site.
How do I change details for a property I’ve already uploaded to the site?
Log in with your email address and password: A list of your properties will come up to allow you to click on ‘Edit’ underneath the areas you would like to change. Click on ‘Submit’ at the bottom of the page to ensure your changes are saved. To change the feature boxes area, for example, click on ‘Edit’ under ‘Features’ and then click on ‘Property Features’ and you will be taken into the area where you can tick or untick boxes.
How do I upload or update photos in my listing?
When you are setting up a new listing, you will be taken to the photos area. Click on ‘Browse’ to search in your computer files for your picture files. To view these photos before they are inserted into your property listing, right click on the icon at the top of your dialog box that looks like a mathematical table. Then click on ‘Thumbnails’. It will allow you to preview what the photos look like in case you’ve forgotten what you’ve named a picture file. When you want to change photos you’ve already uploaded, go to your list of properties again and click on ‘Edit’ under ‘Photos’. Go through the process described above and click ‘Submit’ at the bottom of the page and your old pictures will be automatically replaced by the new ones.
What is the word allowance for the text I can include in the listing
There is a generous allowance of 900 words.
How do I add text to the property listing describing the properties features?
Have your text ready, just cut and paste your write-up into the ‘Property Details’ section. If you want to change this at any time, just log into the site, click on ‘Edit’ under the ‘Text’ area and you can alter the existing text or cut and paste new text.
How many pictures can I include and which ones should I include for my listing?
Up to eight pictures per property can be included. For the main picture, choose the one that is the most striking and would immediately capture someone’s attention. For some properties, this may be a brilliant beach view from a window or balcony while others it can be a striking foyer. You don’t have to be a professional photographer to take good pictures for this site; many of the photos featured are good snapshots taken on a digital camera. Experiment with angles and perspective. Avoid pictures that are too dark or too light as they will detract from the appeal of your property listing. And remove any clutter that is visible when you take pictures, as this will adversely affect how it’s perceived.
How can I maximize my chances of having my property rented or sold?
We offer the opportunity for you to list your property on the home page of the Unitz site under ‘Feature Listings’ for an additional charge. Just email us via ‘Contact Us’ at the top of the page on the home page for further details. Also, use good pictures in your property listing (see tips above). Include as much detail as possible in the property description, including some of the benefits of the area in which it is located (ie proximity to beach, access to public transport, flavour of the area, etc). Get someone else to proof read your property description to avoid any grammatical errors or sentences that are unclear.
Once the free promotion ends, how do I find out my fees for a property listing?
We will notify you that the promotion period has ended and what advertising fees will be charged if you choose to continue advertising on the Unitz site. And if you continue advertising, you can find out any fees due by logging in as usual and clicking on ‘Check Payment’ on the right hand side.
Once the free promotion ends, is there a special rate for multiple listings?
